I'm looking for ideas on what others have done related to using Acumatica for Sales Quoting in the Service realm. One of the challenges is that there is no defined area for extended scopes of work. In our business, service repair quotes can be quite complex and require more information than just a simple note. While there are plenty of places inside the Opportunity to define this scope of work (Lower section of details tab), none of the note sections transfer all the way to the Appointment level that can be viewed on the mobile app natively.
So unless Acumatica releases an improvement in this area in 2020-R2, we are going to need to customize something. So I'm looking for ideas on what others have done in this area. We thought about the LINE NOTES, but we really need that to list line specifics. As well, Line Notes do not copy from the service order to the appointment.
Hi @jlowry,
You might want to repost this Discussion Topic in the Field Service forum on the new official Acumatica Community website:

Here on AUGForums.com, most of the content will now focus on reporting, with the exception of general topics in the Accounting in Acumatica (click here), Question of the Week (click here), and Everything Else (click here) forums. Also the AUGForums.com Real Talk Podcast (click here) where we'll continue to focus on real Acumatica customer stories (click here if you'd like to participate).

I agree this is a huge shortcoming, we're working to overcome for our clients through a customization we are developing. The line notes and other note fields are also plain text, and can't accommodate what is necessary to provide a detailed scope that is intelligible to the tech or ultimately to the customer. Acumatica needs to introduce a rich text field that can be accessed from the mobile app and applied through the report-writer, but unfortunately that is not on the roadmap, and I've been told by Acumatica development that it would require a complete re-write of the report writer.
I'll let you know, once we have it available. We have two (and soon three) clients demanding it. .
