It's definitely convenient for users when Active Directory integration in Acumatica has been setup.
There is a nice button on the login screen that can be pressed which takes them right into Acumatica (as long as they are already authenticated with Active Directory).
This works with both the regular Acumatica application in the browser and also in the Acumatica native mobile app.
But I recently discovered that this doesn't work with the Outlook Add-In. There is some limitation with browser security that makes it unsupported which is a bummer.
Tim, when you say the outlook add-in, do you mean the outlook plugin that allows for a user to log messages back into acumatica? Assuming I'm correct, then if we have the Azure single sign-on, then we wouldn't be able to use this plugin? That would be a bummer for sure.
Yes, that's what I meant. That was our experience. Maybe there is a way around it though. Hopefully...
@timrodman We just ran into this issue which is a huge letdown. If we can't figure this out, we will likely have to move our users off the SSO integration so that we can use the outlook plugin (which as you can imagine is very frustrating). Curious to know if you have any insight or workarounds?
I'd suggest an Acumatica support case on this. It's this kind of framework stuff that they continue to enhance. There might be some improvements that I'm not aware of or that are coming soon.
Just filed this as a product suggestion -- we want to use it internally but also use SSO.
