In a query it would look kinda like this: Select column a, (select Column a | from table | where data ='TR') as column b ......
I need to reuse a column but i need specific data to come through and am unsure how to go about this in the Generic Inquiry UI.

If I was a betting man, I'd wager that you can accomplish what you're after without using a sub query, and be better off for it. Having sub queries in the FROM section is unavoidable and I think the main shortcoming of GI. Having sub queries in the SELECT statement, though unavoidable in some situations, is very undesirable and will become a performance issue given enough scale.
What kind of data do you want to put together? I could suggest something, but there's not really enough information to go on in your original post.
