We have a situation where we have set up separate companies in a single tenant. There are a small number of users, and they work in both companies, however, they only want to see customers, vendors, bills, orders, etc. for the company they are in at the time. They do not want to see combined data as it is showing now. I've been playing around with restriction groups to get to this solution, but I'm not getting anywhere with them. Also, because you can't delete restriction groups once you enter them, I'm hesitant to keep creating them.
Is there a simple solution to this?
Any reason why you didn't set them up as different Tenants seeing as you want the data applicable to the current Tenant only?
Maybe try setting up Restriction Groups in a Test Tenant. You can setup separate Vendor Classes and Customer Classes for each Company. Then set a default Restriction Group on each Vendor Class / Customer Class. Kind of annoying that you lose the ability to use Vendor Classes and Customer Classes for other purposes, but you could always use Attributes for categorizing Vendors and Customers.
